This course integrates the study of musical theater history with physical musical theater dance. Students will explore musicals and choreographers while also applying functional movement of the many dance styles that comprise musical theater dance. This diverse history will be examined through a critical and contemplative lens encouraging students to broaden their understanding of the societal and cultural influences contributing to musical development. This course is appropriate for all students with an interest in musical theater or dance. No prior dance experience or knowledge needed.
