Introduction to Public Health
The course will start with the history of public health; public health theory and behavioral change models. As a class we will then explore public health competencies such as epidemiology, current and past public health crises, policy, health inequities, health marketing and the health systems of different countries. Students will explore different research methods such as Community Health Needs Assessments and Community Based Participatory Research. Each student will pair with a Kent alum who is in the field of public health and field experience will be incorporated into the class.
 
Prerequisite: Open to fifth and sixth formers.
