This advanced course is designed for those students who wish to expand their command of the French language and culture. Students develop language skills to the point at which they can clearly demonstrate the following: an understanding of both conventional language and extended discourse on a variety of topics; comprehension of challenging texts on a wide variety of subjects; ability to express ideas accurately, fluently, and coherently by reacting at some length both orally and in writing to what has been heard or read.

Prerequisite: Honors French 3 and/or department approval.
