We are pleased to announce that we are partnering with the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education’s Independent School Teaching Residency (ISTR) program!

The ISTR program will allow aspiring teachers to complete a two-year fellowship at Kent while working toward a master’s degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education.

Fellows will have mentors who are well-established Kent teachers who will co-teach with their fellow and also visit their other class weekly. Fellows will be spread throughout the departments across many years, in order to fully integrate the fellows and deepen their learning while adding more richness to Kent — It is a fellow-centric approach rather than a school-centric approach.

This partnership ensures Kent continues to model best practices in education while nurturing young educators who will, in turn, improve the learning experience at Kent. This partnership allows us another avenue to support the profession of teaching and the field of education.
