Kent School students and faculty gathered for a community conversation

In a vivid demonstration of engaged citizenship, active empathy, and critical and creative thinking, more than 60 students gathered in the Head's Study yesterday evening for a community conversation aimed at providing a balanced perspective on the Israel-Hamas war.

Led by history teachers Sierra Thomsen and Alec Coyle—and hosted by the Office of Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity—the conversation fostered a respectful and educational dialogue guided by a historical overview of the conflict. The conversation included a vibrant Q&A session during which students and faculty shared their inquiries and reflections. Through engaging in this meaningful dialogue, students were able to broaden their understanding, exhibit supportive engagement with their peers, and take away valuable insights on an ongoing global issue.
