Kent Girls Volleyball Reflects on a Memorable 2025 Season

Kent Varsity Girls Volleyball enjoyed a standout fall season, finishing with an 11-7 record and surpassing its goal of 10 wins for the first time in program history. The achievement reflected steady progress, driven by the leadership of three seniors who helped set expectations and establish a culture rooted in teamwork, competitiveness, and growth.

“We emphasized integrity, sportsmanship, and mutual respect for one another and our opponents—core values that guided our success and were embraced by every player,” said Coach Kendra Galusha.

That emphasis on team values extended beyond match play and into daily practices and school life, shaping how the group worked together and supported one another.

“We also wanted the team to have fun and truly enjoy the game. Team chemistry was a big focus, and it grew through shared experiences, from time together off the court to long matches and road trips. Those connections made this season especially meaningful.”

The season included several milestone victories, highlighted by a program-first win over Founders League rival Hotchkiss and a memorable Pink Out Night victory against Cheshire Academy. Throughout the fall, Kent demonstrated strength at the net, averaging more blocks per game and showcasing disciplined, cohesive defensive play.

Individual accomplishments further reflected the team’s success. Captains Mackenzie C. ’26 and Agar M. ’26 earned All-Founders League honors, while Elizabeth E. ’28 was named All-NEPSAC, and Olivia E. ’28 received All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention recognition.

Success extended across the program as well. JV Volleyball finished the fall with five wins under the leadership of three seniors, reinforcing the program’s depth and long-term development.

With a talented young core returning at the varsity level and continued growth from the JV squad, Kent Volleyball is well positioned to build on the momentum of this historic season, an impressive trajectory for a program established in 2018.

The program started in 2018 as a club team.
