Congratulations to David Quinn '84 who has been appointed as the tenth head coach in San Jose Sharks franchise history.

For Quinn, this is the latest high-profile coaching appointment: he coached Team USA at the Beijing Olympics and led Team USA to the bronze medal game in the World Championships. He coached the New York Rangers for three seasons and coached the Boston University team for five years.

After Quinn graduated from Kent, he was selected by the Minnesota North Stars in the first round of the 1984 NHL Draft and played for the Boston Terriers for three years. He played for the New York Rangers, AHL's Binghampton Rangers, the Cleveland Lumberjacks, and with Team USA in the 1986 IIHF World Junior Championship.
