Adriana M. ’27 Gains Industry Experience with WHP Global and Vera Wang

Kent Student Celebrating winning the Gold Medal the National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

This summer, Adriana M. ’27 spent three weeks interning with WHP Global and Vera Wang, gaining firsthand experience in the fashion industry and exploring the many facets of brand management and design.

During her internship, Adriana learned about licensing, brand collaborations, social media marketing, and the creative process behind Vera Wang's haute couture bridal collections. She also had the opportunity to help organize ready-to-wear collections and contribute to brand strategy projects, giving her valuable hands-on experience and a behind-the-scenes look at how fashion brands operate.

Beyond the day-to-day work, Adriana said the people she met made the experience especially meaningful.

"I am truly so grateful to have had the opportunity," she shared. "One of the best parts of the internship was getting to meet so many amazing people. I felt incredibly lucky to learn from such talented and inspiring professionals, and everyone was so welcoming and generous with their advice and experience."

For Adriana, who hopes to study fashion management and marketing in college, the internship provided clarity and inspiration for her future.

"This experience was so eye-opening and gave me a much better understanding of the industry. It made me even more eager to pursue this path and showed me just how many different opportunities there are within fashion."

The internship follows another significant accomplishment for Adriana. Last spring, she earned a Gold Medal at the National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for her fashion design, Edges & Borders. Her work was recognized among thousands of submissions from students across the country, highlighting her creativity and talent as she continues to pursue opportunities in the world of fashion.
