2026 Volunteer Recognition Day

Kent School is deeply grateful for the many volunteers who give their time, energy, and enthusiasm in support of the Kent community. From class agents and reunion volunteers to members of the Parents Association, Alumni Council, and Board of Trustees, their dedication plays a vital role in keeping Kent connected and thriving. In recognition of Volunteer Recognition Day on April 20, Kent School is proud to highlight a few individuals who have given so much to this community.

 

Gilly Jean-Pierre ’85

Gilly exemplifies the spirit of Kent through her continued involvement and dedication to giving back. From her service as an Alumni Council member to her involvement in the Women of Kent series, and her leadership in making this year’s Day of OutREACH possible at locations across—and even beyond—the country, Gilly’s impact is far-reaching. Kate Karafotas P ’24, ’27 and Lisa Sullivan P ’27

Kate and Lisa are the Parents Association Co-Presidents, play a vital role in fostering connection and engagement within the Kent community. Through their leadership, the Parents Association makes it easy for families to get involved in many aspects of school life—whether planning events, supporting fundraising efforts, or connecting with prospective families. We are grateful for their dedication and the energy they bring to strengthening the Kent community. 

 

Jennifer James P ’26

Jennifer brings a dynamic energy to her role as Parents Association Fundraising Co-Chair, where her vision and leadership help fuel the resources that empower Kent students to thrive. By bridging the gap between parent engagement and strategic giving, Jennifer plays a key role in ensuring the school’s mission continues to grow and flourish. We are incredibly grateful for her collaborative spirit and the tireless work she does to champion the future of our community.

 

Peter Lewine ’65

Peter exemplifies a lifetime of service and loyalty to Kent. From his previous leadership as Alumni Council Vice President to his decades of commitment as a Class Agent and Reunion co-chair, Peter has been a cornerstone of alumni engagement. His impact extends well beyond the Valley Land, having led multiple previous Day of OutREACH events in Brooklyn to bring the Kent spirit of service to the local community. In recognition of his tireless efforts and unwavering dedication, Peter was honored with the Fuzz Foster Volunteer Award in May 2025. We are deeply grateful for his enduring leadership and the vital role he plays in strengthening our community across the generations.

 

Jaime A. ’26

Jaime is a dedicated student leader whose commitment to service spans both the Kent campus and the broader community. A key member of the REACH leadership committee, he has helped lead hands-on initiatives that strengthen connections with local partners. On campus, Jaime serves on the Senior Council and the Disciplinary Committee, and is actively involved in community service afternoons and Model UN, reflecting his strong interest in civic engagement and global perspectives. His commitment to service has also taken him abroad on a REACH trip to Costa Rica. We are grateful for the meaningful impact Jaime continues to make at Kent and look forward to all he will accomplish ahead.

 

Judith H. ’26

Judith brings creativity, leadership, and a deep commitment to service to her work with REACH, where she has served on the leadership committee since Fourth Form. Through her ongoing involvement, she plays an active role in strengthening connections between Kent and the broader community. Judith also shares her love of writing through ImagineInk, a creative writing program for children at the Kent Memorial Library, and participates in Model UN, reflecting her thoughtful engagement and broad perspective. She has also interned with UNICEF, further deepening her commitment to service on a global scale. We are grateful for her leadership and the energy she brings to the Kent community, and we look forward to all she will continue to accomplish.
