Ebob-Tabi Besong '12
Ebob was born and raised in London, and moved to Cameroon and then Uganda before arriving on Kent School's campus in the Fall of 2009 and joining the Fourth Form class of 2012.
During Ebob's time on campus she tried her hand in many new activities, including field hockey, cross country, stage directing, varsity basketball, and varsity rowing, where she excelled on the Housotonic River and was first boat-stroke in her Sixth Form year. Ebob was a Peer Advisor, Tour guide, editor of the Kent School Newspaper, and Case Dorm prefect. She received the Trinity Club of Hartford Book Award during the Sixth Form awards ceremony.
After graduating from Kent School Cum Laude, Ebob attended the University of Virginia where she studied Public Policy and French Language and Literature, and was a Resident Advisor from her second through her final year. The spring of her third year at UVA, she studied political science at the Sorbonne University in Paris. She graduated from UVA with High Distinction, a member of the prestigious Raven Society, and a recipient of the Edgar F. Shannon Award bestowed by the Z Society upon the best graduating students in each of the University's schools. Ebob also received the Lorna Sundberg International Scholarship for her dedication to community service.
Upon her graduation from UVA in 2016, Ebob returned to London where she started her career in Global Markets at Goldman Sachs. In 2020, Ebob relocated to Paris with Goldman Sachs.
