Boys Lacrosse
Kent School boys lacrosse has a rich and storied history and has been a mainstay in the highly competitive Founders League for decades.
With fields nestled under the Appalachian Mountains and along the banks of the Housatonic River, our location makes for one of the most breathtaking and inspiring places to play in Western New England. Our athletic facilities and access to resources allow us to train throughout all seasons and optimize our level of play.
Skill Development & Teamwork
The focus of Kent boys lacrosse is on the development of the student-athlete, both on and off the field. Our experienced coaching staff teaches both advanced and fundamental game concepts that prepare our athletes for the toughest competition in the country and provide them with the skills to find success at the collegiate level and beyond. Throughout the year, our players are introduced to professional development and personal growth opportunities through community service and career networking events.
Leadership & Character Development
The Kent Lions operate with P.O.W.E.R.: Pride, Ownership, Work, Enthusiasm, and Respect. These core values translate to everything we do on the field, in the classroom, and in our community and sit at the heart of our team culture. The Kent lacrosse program values strong morals and ethics over everything else and it is our belief that the character of the student-athlete is the most important key to success.
Coach Wayne Clarke
Interim Head Lacrosse Coach Wayne Clarke brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program. As a player in both high school and college, he competed as a close defenseman and long-stick midfielder. Serving as a boarding school educator for over two decades Coach Clarke has led as both a head lacrosse and football coach.
“The reason I continue to coach is not because of the scoreboard but because of the effect we can have on directing a young person’s life," says Coach Clarke. "Athletics at any level challenges young people and it’s through the discomfort that individuals grow and develop into quality people. I am excited to help the team grow and develop as lacrosse players, but I’m more excited to help shape who they are through our shared experience."
