Kent School is an independent college preparatory boarding school serving grades 9-12 located in Kent, CT. The Kent Baseball program has had a proud and rich tradition over the past several decades. Kent Baseball competes in the talent-rich Founders League, known as one of the strongest leagues in the New England Area and the country.

Meet the Coach

Coach Michal Wright '81

Coach Wright, a member of Kent's Athletic Hall of Fame, has an outsized role in the history of Kent Athletics that he brings to the baseball program. A three-sport student-athlete in football, basketball, and baseball, Coach Wright has previously coached all three of those sports at Kent in addition to softball.

Coach Wright's leadership is characterized by his ability to connect with student-athletes on an individual level and guide their development through a unique combination of expertise, empathy, and enthusiasm.

Coach Wright attended Kent School and then St. Lawrence University where he is also a member of their Athletic Hall of Fame. Immediately following his career at St. Lawrence, Coach Wright was offered a free agent tryout with the Miami Dolphins. He has also taught and coached at King & Low Haywood Thomas School in Stamford, CT, Cincinnati Country Day in Cincinnati, OH, Blair Academy in New Jersey, Flint Hill School in Virginia and Pinewood Preparatory School in Summerville, SC where he was named South Carolina's Sports Report Coach of the Year.
