Kent School offers extensive riding facilities allowing students to ride year-round in a range of settings that accommodate all levels of riding.
Kent School Stables is a quick 15-minute drive up Skiff Mountain. The Stable sits at the top of hundreds of acres of conserved land. Our Riders have access to numerous sand rings and grass fields to exercise their horses. The stables have 2 heated student tack rooms for ample storage. Stalls are 12 x 12 with rubber mats and are equipped with heated automatic waters. The 2 wash stalls have running hot/cold water year round. Horses can enjoy turn-out in one of our paddocks, just a short walk from the stable.
Nancy L. Towle Heated Indoor Arena
The Nancy L. Towle Heated Indoor Arena is 100 x 200 with stadium seating for spectators. A second indoor ring is adjacent to allow riders to warm-up before entering the Towle Arena. The indoor rings are accessible and attached to the stables.
Outdoor Sand Rings
The main outdoor sand ring is 120 x 220 a full jumping course is always set. The second sand ring is used for practice and flatting exercises.
Grass Hunter Field
Short walks from the sand ring are 1 grass hunter field and a smaller open grassy area. One field is used as Dressage rings during our Fall and Spring Horse Trials. Both fields are great for flatting exercises and schooling. There are many other open areas for schooling.
The Cross-Country Course is open to levels starting at Beginner-Novice through Training level. The main Cross-Country Course spans over 3 large fields with an adjacent 4th field.
Grand Prix Field
The Grand Prix Field is an open space with a full course always set on the rolling hills. A permanent water element is set and maintained every year.
