Jayda W. '26
Honorable Mention, Scholastic Art Awards – Photography
Jayda’s award-winning photograph captures a quiet, contemplative moment on a goldfish street in Hong Kong after hours. Viewed from a cat’s perspective, the image is bathed in vibrant red and blue neon light, revealing a scene where calm and motion coexist. “The cat’s stillness contrasts with the bustling shopkeeper and scattered goldfish bags,” Jayda explains. “It weaves a quiet narrative of coexistence and unveils the delicate beauty often overlooked in urban life.”
Ryan G. '25
Honorable Mention, Scholastic Art Awards – Architecture
Blending natural inspiration with abstract design, Ryan’s architectural work pushes creative boundaries. “I’ve always tried to create art that sparks introspection—something different for every viewer,” he says. His award-winning cityscape project began as a simple doodle, evolving into a detailed architectural model that merges organic forms with geometric precision. Drawing from nature’s structures—like the branching of trees or the strength of a honeycomb—Ryan’s greenhouse design combines the modular beauty of a beehive with the aerodynamic shape of a soccer ball, fusing nature, abstraction, and thoughtful design.
