Kent School

Alumni Council

From the Alumni Council President

“When we nurture a vibrant and welcoming alumni community, we extend the Kent experience beyond just the time spent on campus as a student.”abby Miller

Greetings! I’m Abby from the Class of 2006, and I’m thrilled and honored to introduce myself to you as President of the Kent School Alumni Council.

The Alumni Council represents the greater Kent School Alumni Association, and our goal is to strengthen the connection between the alumni community and the School. I have served on the Alumni Council since 2022, and without question, the best part has been coming back to campus and seeing what’s going on at Kent today.

Nostalgia for my own time as a student mixes with the unique energy of each new class and creates something familiar and brand new all at once. I couldn’t be happier to be part of it, and I encourage everyone to consider visiting our beautiful campus someday soon.

I have spent a large part of my professional career so far in community building, so I’ve asked the Alumni Council to focus their energy on exactly that—we want to help Kent alumni find and connect with one another. Kent School Supper Clubs, in which volunteers across the country invite their fellow alumni to gather for meals together, is a simple yet powerful idea we look forward to expanding. Anyone can host one, and I encourage anyone interested to reach out to alumni@kent-school.edu. Chances are, you have a good-sized Kent alumni population living and working near you and the amazing Alumni & Development Office will help you with everything you need to find your Kent community.

Initiatives like these are intended to help all Kent alumni build and strengthen our connections to one another and to the School. When we nurture a vibrant and welcoming alumni community, we extend the Kent experience beyond just the time spent on campus as a student. We ensure that every Kent student graduates into a worldwide network that is ready and excited to support them throughout the next phases of their journey, no matter where they are or what path they choose.

I’m so excited to serve the Kent alumni community in this role. I believe that Kent today is stronger than ever, and I hope you will all join us in building an even stronger future.

Warmest regards,
Abby T. Miller '06
