11th or 12th grade (5th and 6th Form) or Post-Graduate applicants opting to submit standardized testing should send SAT, PSAT, or ACT scores directly to the Admissions Office. We will also continue to require TOEFL testing (we are currently accepting all forms of TOEFL, including the TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition, as well as Duolingo) for all students for whom English is not their first language. Our school code for the TOEFL test is 8039 and Kent does utilize TOEFL superscoring.

Admissions decisions are communicated via email on March 10 for applicants who have met the priority application deadline.

Signed enrollment agreements are due April 10 for newly enrolled families.

Applicants from Mainland China

Application requirements are the same as outlined above, with the following exceptions regarding interviews and campus visits.

The following items are needed to schedule a personal interview/campus visit:

  • Inquiry Form
  • Part 1 (demographic information) of the application and application fee must be submitted (using the Standard Application Online or through Gateway to Prep Schools)
  • Official copy of a TOEFL score of 105 or higher sent through ETS using our school code #8039 or an official copy of a Duolingo score of 125 or higher

Please allow at least two days for processing of TOEFL and application submissions.

If you do not have the required test scores, or are unable to come to campus for your interview, we will still accept an application, but an interview via Vericant will be necessary to complete the interview requirement. Applicants should contact Vericant directly to schedule their interview (they have locations in 13 cities throughout China) and once completed, it will be sent to Kent for review.

Chinese Applicant Frequently Asked Questions

I am already studying at an English-speaking school. Do I still have to meet the  105 TOEFL score minimum to schedule a campus visit and personal interview?
All applicants for whom English is not their primary language must submit a TOEFL score as a required part of the application for admission. To schedule a campus visit/interview, you must either supply an official TOEFL score of 105 or above or have completed at least 2 years in an English-speaking school. Otherwise, applicants must complete their initial interview via Vericant Global Interview.

What is the Vericant deadline for your school?
January 15

If I work with a very good consultant, do I still need to meet the 105 TOEFL minimum needed for personal interview ?
The requirements for Chinese applicants are generally the same regardless of whether or not they are working with a consultant.

Is there a minimum TOEFL requirement to apply?
Although there is a minimum requirement in order to have a personal interview/campus visit, there is no minimum requirement needed to apply.

What else should I keep in mind when applying?
We look for well-rounded students who can contribute to the life of our school in many ways. To that end, we encourage applicants to present an independent and authentic profile of themselves in their applications.
