This summer, Kent School will be offering three programs designed to give high school students, including those who will be beginning ninth grade, the chance to experience engineering education and entrepreneurship. The Summer Educational Experience at Kent (SEEK) will be offered in partnerships with professionals from several institutions, including U. Penn's Wharton Business School and Harvard Kennedy School.”

From June 3rd through 8th, 2013 students will have a choice between:
SEEK1 Pre-Engineering: to take part in an Engineering experience complete with hands-on learning, creative problem solving, and the use of CNC prototyping machines, 3D color printing, Vex Robotics and Solar/Wind energy experiments. The week will end with a collaborative competition.
SEEK2 Entrepreneurship: Wharton Business School Professor Keith Weigelt will delve into the creative world of Entrepreneurship. Students will explore innovative thinking while working in small groups. Topics covered include Business Plan Ideas, Competitive Environments, Sales and Marketing, Pricing Strategies, Operations & Human Resource Management, Budgeting and Accounting.
From June 9th through 14th, 2013 students can participate in:
SEEK3 Global Development: Students will learn how to leverage the power of medical engineering in solving global economic challenges. This session will include themes selected from, but not limited to: Engineering in Economic History, Health and Nutrition, Energy and Water, and Education Technology. Harvard University's Kennedy School Professor Calestous Juma will run the program along with faculty, staff and students from Harvard University, MIT , Boston University and One Laptop per Child Foundation. The program will also engage Kent alumni and other professionals.
