Student Leadership

The Senior Council and Prefect system is an integral part of life at Kent. These students are chosen as leaders to help manage all aspects of community life at Kent. We are unique in providing this system of parallel leadership opportunities for boys and girls.

Prefects and Senior Council Members are chosen in elections held by students, and faculty; ultimately they are appointed by the Headmaster to their leadership positions. The annual May "Tapping" service is the joyful culmination of this process, during which the Prefects and Senior Council for the following year are announced and welcomed into the community.
