Oceana, the book by Ted Danson ’66, tells of the author’s lifetime involvement with the oceans of the world. He takes the reader through the way his relationship with the seas evolves over time from appreciation, to enthusiasm for conservation, to becoming “one of the world’s most influential oceanic environmental activists.” It’s a highly readable work peppered with personal anecdotes and full of scientific information on the greatest challenges facing our oceans today. Danson delivers this science with ease that makes the issues understandable. He talks about it with the New York Times here and with the Today show here.
