National Scholastic Art Award Winner

Caeli Smith '11 ArtCaeli Smith '11 was recently awarded for her outstanding artwork in the National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. She earned a Silver Medal for her scratch board drawing, On Stage.

Smith, along with other national winners, will be honored at an awards ceremony at Carnegie Hall.

A record number of more than 165,000 entries were submitted from across the nation for this year’s competition. National awards were given to 1,300 artists and writers in 2010.

The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is a national program designed to identify America's most gifted young artists and writers. This program has honored some of our nation's most celebrated artists including Truman Capote, Sylvia Plath, Michael Sarich, Cindy Sherman, Robert Redford and Andy Warhol.
