When it came time to produce their recent Asia Report, SSATB - The Admission Organization turned to Kent Director of Admissions, Kathryn Sullivan ‘94, a leader in developing emerging boarding school markets. The report, intended for admissions office professionals, called upon Ms. Sullivan for advice based on her experiences in Japan and India. From the articles, Ms. Sullivan “focuses on creating a dialogue with families that allows them to get to their most important questions, such as, 'How will you take care of my child?' or 'Is my child going to be welcomed?' The only way to reassure families about the school environment is face-to-face… You’ve got to send your ‘A’ Team, especially when you are traveling to a new market. When people are making big decisions like sending their children halfway around the world at great expense, they want to see the boss… Above all, don’t sell something that you’re not… it is a huge compliment when one of the students visits Kent and says, 'It’s just as you described!'"
