Update: KENT Wins First Ever International Match In London

Kent Football over Filton College 27-6 in the Global Bowl in Bristol. Coach Todd Marble describes the once in a lifetime opportunity for his players as, "Truly a magical experience."

KENT To Compete In First Ever International Match In London

Kent Football has a unique opportunity this fall to travel to England and represent the school against Filton Academy in Bristol, England. This will be a first for any American secondary school - the chance to compete internationally during the fall season.  Sponsored by USA/Global Football, an affiliate of the National Football League, this event is part of an initiative by the NFL to promote the sport of football overseas.

Five years ago, Kent was one of a half-dozen American schools chosen by USA/Global Football to serve as a host school for a select group of international students to study and play football.  Through this program three German students have matriculated to Kent and this year we have received applications from prospective students in Sweden, New Zealand, Australia and Germany. Kent’s affiliation with this organization led to the offer to be the first school to take its team abroad.

The game will be played in Bristol on Saturday, October 24.  The following day the New England Patriots will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Wembley Stadium and the Kent football team will be guests of the NFL at that game.

This experience promises to be a lifetime experience for those involved and also a chance to help spread Kent’s great reputation on a global stage as we mark yet another first in the School’s illustrious history.
