Kent Students Initiate Raffle to Benefit Student Life

Dear Friends and Family of Kent School,

Over the past year, Kent has experienced new and unexplored territory. The new dorm, Hoerle Hall is being constructed on Chapel Road, to be completed by the fall of 2012. The weather has been, at the least, strange. From hurricanes and an earthquake to a freak snowstorm, Kent has almost seen it all. This spring, we are continuing our journey on a new trail and hosting Kent's first ever Raffle initiated by students, to fund and expand Student Activities.

This raffle symbolizes Kent spirit in more than one way. Our 1st prize is a $25,000 Expedia Travel Award. This prize symbolizes not only Kent's thriving international community, but also our quest for understanding of the world at large. Our $2,000 and $1,000 2nd and 3rd prizes are gift cards for use in the Town of Kent. These prizes exemplify the School's close relationship with the Town of Kent community.

We are offering only 1,500 raffle tickets at $100 each. To purchase a ticket please provide your information at our secure site: www.kent-school.edu/raffle. Your name will be entered into the drawing once for each ticket that you purchase. You may also want to chip in with family and friends to purchase tickets (you may specify a group name as the purchaser, and if you win, you share the winnings among your group). And should you not want the winnings, a very nice option is to donate it to Kent, tax-deductible, of course.

This raffle is important to Kent students because the proceeds will benefit student life at Kent. Blue Key, weekend activities, and student programs will receive the extra boost of the raffle proceeds to make life at Kent even better. Please purchase your raffle tickets today.

The drawing of the winning tickets will take place on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 7 PM in the Dining Hall.
