Since the founding of Kent School in 1906 with $200, we have relied on parents, alumni and friends each year to ensure the highest quality of education for our students. Our founder, Reverend Frederick Herbert Sill, Order of the Holy Cross, introduced the Sliding Scale tuition which provided financial assistance to those young men who could never realize a Kent education and preparation for the most competitive universities in the country.

The tradition of excellence today is a reflection of the past support of thousands of loyal and dedicated supporters of the School.

The Annual Fund is an essential way for all members of the Kent Family to support the work of our dedicated faculty and the aspirations and achievements of our young people. Kent asks every member of the School Family – alumni, present parents, parents of alumni, grandparents and friends - to make an annual contribution.

One of the meaningful philanthropic traditions at Kent School, in addition to the Parents Fund, is the Senior Parent Gift.

Nearly eight hundred members of the Kent School constituency are designated as K-E-Y (Kent Every Year) Society members.

Another innovative way to complement Annual Fund giving is by establishing an Annual Giving Endowment (AGE) Fund.

Capital and Endowment Giving to Kent helps preserve and enhance the school community and campus, whether in support of identified facilities needs, or in support of Kent’s students and faculty.

Planned Giving is increasingly used by alumni, parents and friends of the School as a way to augment overall giving.

Kent is now and continues to be, with thanks for the exceptional and thoughtful support of its greater Family, one of the leading independent boarding schools in the country.
