For more than twenty years, Kent has had a thriving Peer Counseling program. Student counselors learn how to be effective listeners and how they can empower their peers to make good decisions when dealing with issues.
Peer counselors are trained to respond to students in need and students looking for guidance. They provide a valuable resource for students to discuss whatever issues face our student body. Kent has averaged more than fifty peer counselors each school year, close to ten percent of our student body.
The Peer Counseling program is a vibrant, active program constantly at work improving the lives of students ranging from identifying students who are homesick to helping one another cope with the stress of exams and everything in between.
