RILEY McGILLIS '11 Sixth Former Riley McGillis notched the game-winning goal in an exciting 5-3 victory over Taft last Wednesday. This crucial tally was his first of the season. With less than half a minute remaining in regulation, and the game knotted at 3, Riley blocked a shot in the Kent zone, leading to his own breakaway. With a Taft defender nipping at his heels, he was able to keep his composure, slipping the puck behind the beaten goaltender, giving Kent a 4-3 lead with just 19 seconds remaining. Although he has been a solid contributor to the team's success thus far, regularly coming off the bench in key situations, he had an outstanding 18-point performance in this contest. This point total was an individual team season-high. Hans was very active in transition, garnering many of his points by outhustling opponents down the floor. It was a truly inspired performance by Hans. The entire team played well in this overwhelming 54-19 Kent win, but Hans provided the crucial spark when needed. Congratulations, Hans! |
