Led by captains, Shannon Dickson and Haley Smith, the Girls Varsity Tennis Team had a successful 6-5 season. Highlights included a 4-3 victory over Taft and a 7-0 win over Loomis. The team finished in 5th place out of 12 teams in the deVillafranca Tournament, its best showing in recent years. Joanna Matusczyk, Kent’s #1 singles player, completed the spring with an undefeated record, not losing a single set and dropping only two games throughout the regular season. In the finals of the deVillafranca tournament, she defeated the #1 player from Hotchkiss 6-0, 6-0. Only a fourth former, Kent is fortunate to have Matusczyk back for two more years. Eliie Pardoe and Sonia Drohojowski played number #1 doubles for Kent, compiling a winning record. Meghan Kelly reached the finals of the #2 singles consolation bracket of the deVillafranca Tournament and Christina Soriano and Molly Thompson proved to be a winning team at #3 doubles.
