The Golf team finished with a record of 14-14, including a 12th place finish in New England’s, a 7th place finish in the Founder’s League, and a victory at the Keyes Championship defeating the top ranked team in New England by one shot. Kent was lead by five returning sixth formers, Alex Drayson, Ben Cook, Gavin Sweitzer, Adam Ferguson, and Charles Paiement with Jack Pollock the lone under-former on the Varsity.
Drayson led the team with a scoring average of 41.53. Kent’s best performances included a home match against Choate and Trinity-Pawling, and the season finale against Kingswood-Oxford, Trinity-Pawling, and Hopkins. On May 3, Kent was led by Sweitzer’s 2-over 38 and Paiement’s 39 en route to a 210 total that defeated Choate and Trinity-Pawling.
The team finished respectably in the K.I.T Tournament (New England’s) placing 12th out of 24 schools. Paiement was team medalist in this event with a score of 82. The team recorded arguably its best match in the program’s history on May 24. Kingswood-Oxford, Trinity-Pawling, Hopkins, and Kent compete for the Keyes Championship with the winner receiving a plate to honor the event. Kent defeated Kingswood-Oxford by one shot with a program record 195 score. Drayson and Ferguson lead Kent - each with scores of one over par 37. The success at this final match highlighted the team’s hard work all season.
