At the NEIRA’s held on Lake Quinsigamond, the #1 seeded Girls 1st eight easily dispatched of all competitors, winning the finals in a time of 5:22.73, 2.4 seconds ahead of the nearest competitor, Andover. For head coach Jamie Robinson, assistants Kat Sullivan, and Ashton Betancourt, and boat members Vashti Chandler, Mariana Lima, Carly Traub, Emily Reynolds, Danielle Djokic, Christine Roper, Sasha Dosenko, Charlene Thivierge-Lortie and Natalie Raymunt this confirmed what earlier race results had shown – that Kent – can boast the best girls crew in New England for the 2005 season.
Kent’s 2nd eight also claimed a New England Championship, whiel the 3rd boat claimed a bronze. This overall performance handily won Kent the E. Arthur Gilcrest Bowl for the “NEIRA member school with the best overall performance in Girls’ Eights”.

Coach
Coach Robinson began rowing in the ninth
grade at Salisbury School where he captained the team in
1980. He continued rowing at Trinity College in the
lightweight and heavyweight programs. Jamie has medaled
with Trinity in the Dad Vail's and also done small boat
sculling. Since 1985, he has coached boys' and girls'
crews at the prep school level. Jamie is in his 2nd
year with the KSBC girls after 4 years with Coach Houston
and the boy's program at Kent .
