Girls Basketball experienced another competitive season ending the year with 11 wins and 9 losses, 6 of the losses were by 6 pts or less. The team returned to the Pomfret Christmas Tournament this year and missed beating the tournament champions, Lawrenceville by a mere 4 pts. The highlight of the season was beating Founders League rival Choate on their court.
Senior captains Sonia LeGoff and Mariana Lima were names New England Class A All Stars and Founders League All Stars. The other senior captain, Caroline Thomas, a 3 year starter, achieved a career point total and continued to be our top defender. Senior Rachel Cleveland, a two year starter was also a big contributor to the competitive level of the team. Captains-elect for next season are Leandra Heller, a starter this season, and Meghan Kelly, winner of the coaches’ award for spirit.
