Girls Tennis capped a winning
(7-6) season with a strong - 5 th (out of 12 teams) place finish
in the deVillafranca Tournament, hosted by Kent on May 22.
In this tournament Lorrae Doig, Kent's #1 singles player, finished
among the top 4 in her bracket, upsetting the #4 ranked player
in New England. Ashley Pardoe, playing #2 singles, upset the
top seeded player from Exeter on her way to winning the consolation
tournament. The team's tournament showing was all the more
impressive considering the quality of competition in what is
recognized as the top girls tennis tournament among New England
prep schools.
Other 6 th formers contributing
to the team's success were the #1 doubles team, consisting
of Ali Carroll and Taylor Karns, and #2 doubles player Harriet
Hoyer. Underformers Shannon Dickson, Jati Baeza, Haley Smith,
Simone Grant and Sonia Drohojowski were also instrumental
in the team's success under head coach Rob Ober.
