Led by Co-Captains Antonio Brecevich and
Earl Thompson, Boys Varsity Basketball completed a successful
season on February 28 versus Trinity-Pawling in front of a
boisterous home crowd. The team made significant progress over
the course of the term as players found their roles and discovered
defenses, plays, and tempo that worked for them. Jon Ruiru
was instrumental with his play as point guard, taking on a
good deal of the scoring responsibilities. Chris Martin played
well inside and Nkolo Nyada did a great job on defense. The
team struggled to play consistently in the early going yet
overcame some of that difficulty by season end. Team highlights
included a thrilling come-from-behind win at Hotchkiss and
a convincing victory over Kingswood. Golden Thomas and Alex
Lundgren made significant contributions coming off the bench.
Greg McFarlane saw significant playing time at the end of the
season and sixth formers Ryan Miner and Henry Nymark were steady
performers throughout the campaign and their Kent careers.
Keys to the team's success were selfless team play and team
camaraderie.
