Our Program

Sarah Garnett '10The Kent riding program offers serious students an opportunity to develop and grow their passion for riding in a co-educational setting. Students have the opportunity to develop their equine skills in a variety of disciplines from beginner to the most advanced. Kent’s riding program offers training and expertise in equitation, jumpers, hunters and combined training.

We have facilities that support our diverse disciplines. You’ll be able to take advantage of 2 indoor and 2 outdoor sand rings, 2 large fields, a grand prix jumping field and a cross country course which offers beginner-novice through training level.

Mary Katherine Atkins '10You have the choice to bring your own horse or to work with one of our “equine professors”. Our school horses set the standard for quality. Many have competed at the top of their discipline and offer a schoolmaster experience for their riders.

And at Kent, it’s not just about the riding. The program centers around creating a well-rounded rider. The student learns all areas of horse management including stable management, veterinary care and conditioning needs. We strive to produce an all-around horseperson who is knowledgeable, caring, competent and exemplifies good horsemanship and sportsmanship.

Kent School Stables host many shows and events of its own. Included in these competitions are the Kent School Schooling Jumper Shows, as well as the Kent School Horse Trials. Kent School Stables attends ‘A’ Rated horse shows from the Northeast down to Florida every year.
