The Kent School Athletic Hall of Fame honors alumni, coaches and teams whose athletic achievements are of the highest caliber. Eligibility for alumni begins with the 10th Reunion, and coaches are eligible upon retirement. All nominees are considered by the Athletic Hall of Fame Committee, which is chaired by the Director of Athletics and comprises a group of alumni, faculty, and members of the Alumni Council and the Board of Trustees. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is held each year during Reunion Weekend.
Alumni and teams are eligible for induction during their Reunion years. The deadline for nominations is late January, and inductees are announced in the early spring. While there is no specific limit to the number of alumni inducted each year, only one team and one coach will be inducted annually unless there are exceptional circumstances. If you would like to submit a nomination, please fill out a nomination form.
Selection is based primarily on athletic accomplishments while at Kent; however, athletic achievements following graduation from Kent will be taken into consideration. Equal consideration is given to deceased nominees. If a nominee is not selected, he/she will be reconsidered in his/her next reunion year.
The Hall of Fame Committee considers the following criteria in making selections:
The permanent home of the Athletic Hall of Fame is the Sill Trophy Room in Magowan Field House. The links below will connect you to a list of each year’s inductees.
