Friday September 24 Kent played its first home football game against Berkshire. The Kent Lions came out on top with a score of 41-13. Talking to the captains, Greg Newman and Theodore Thompson, we see that the team is confident, well prepared and looking forward to the season ahead.

"Coming into our first game we could tell that we were all nervous, but ready to gear up for our first test against a talented Berkshire team. Throughout the game we overcame a lot of obstacles yet bonded as a team and came out victorious. Although we came out with a win, we know that we have a lot of hard work to do in preparation for our next test at Trinity Pawling." - Greg Newman.

"Greg and I were both expecting the team to do well. We worked hard during preseason, and I think that as a team we showed that on Friday. We stuck together and came out with the win. Coach Marble expects a lot out of us, as do all the other coaches and we are working hard and thinking about one game at a time." - Theodore Thompson.

The boys' football team captured the Arthur Valicenti Bowl New England Championship in a thrilling overtime performance after capping the regular season by keeping the spoon in Kent for the ninth straight year. That represents the longest such streak in the 65 year tradition of competition for the spoon!
