Head Coach: Michael Green, at KENT since 2008
Assistant: Matt Herr, at KENT since 2005
Assistant: Jason Coulombe, at KENT since 2008

Message from the Coach:
Kent has a long tradition of competitive baseball. Our goal is to develop our athletes into sound baseball players. We believe in teaching the fundamentals of the game and in providing a competitive atmosphere in order to produce better baseball players as well as individuals who are ready to tackle the rigors of college. Regardless of their baseball aspirations, baseball players at Kent work to elevate their game and their studies every day.

The Head Coach for Kent’s baseball team is Mike Green.  He is assisted by two exceptional varsity coaches in their own right.  Coach Matt Herr (Varsity Hockey Head Coach) played both hockey and baseball at the University of Michigan, winning a total of eight letters over his four year career. Herr was named Big 10 Athlete of the Year as a senior. He was drafted in both sports but chose to pursue a seven-year career in the NHL. Herr also works in the Admissions Office. Coach Coulombe (Varsity Basketball Head Coach) knows baseball and baseball players and was obviously born to coach and teach.  Coach Green feels fortunate indeed to share the field with these two great teachers.

Each March the team heads south for a week of pre-season training in Florida in anticipation of a full Founders League schedule.  The school’s baseball field – considered among the best in the league – is centrally located on Kent’s bucolic campus with a scenic backdrop of the Berkshire foothills and the Housatonic River in the foreground.

Kent baseball has produced some outstanding college prospects in recent years with a number of Kent Lions currently playing college baseball at a high level. Many other players have gone on to play at top Division II and III schools.
