Through hard work and dedication, several Kent students have been accepted, by audition, to the Connecticut Northern Regional Music Festival. The festival, sponsored by the Connecticut Music Educators Association, will be held January 15-16 at New Britain High School in New Britain, Conn.

In other music news, two students placed in the 2010 Musical Club of Hartford piano and vocal competitions. Tzu-Yin Chi, who placed third in the piano competition, will perform “Concert Paraphrase of Rigoletto” by Liszt at the winner’s concert on January 31 in the Westminster Presbyterian Church, West Hartford, Conn. Miao Cui, who placed first in the vocal competition, will perform “Sure on this Shining Night” by Barber.
