Auroral Skies Music

Music events seem to be happening all the time at Kent. In fact, there are more than 60 concerts and recitals every year. Maybe that's just a sign of how much we love music here.

There's such a wide range of courses and performing groups here, you won't have a problem expressing yourself musically. You could play in a full orchestra or sing a cappella; you could even provide accompaniment for a dance recital or play in the spring musical. And if you're interested in theory, there's a year-long course in which you'll learn music fundamentals and write compositions—all using the latest software you've downloaded from the Kent intranet.

The music faculty at Kent are well-credentialed, have great teaching experience and impressive performance resumes. They'll encourage you to enter regional competitions, like All-Eastern Chorus, Connecticut All-State Festival or the New England Music Festival. And they can help you find a music tutor; about one-fifth of Kent students take private lessons with teachers drawn from the area's large professional music circles.

And for the final bit of musical inspiration, check out our reference library of over 2000 classical music CDs. It is you-know-what to your ears.
