Fall 2009:

Financial aid application forms are sent to parents of applicants who have indicated that they intend to apply for financial aid on the Parent Form of the Admission Application. They are also sent to the families of current aid recipients not scheduled to graduate at the end of the current year. Forms/instructions/links with which to file are also available below. Signatures are required on each document submitted. ALL DOCUMENTS EXCEPT THE PFS SHOULD BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE KENT SCHOOL FINANCIAL AID OFFICE.


REQUIRED FORMS FOR U.S. CITIZENS:

By Feb. 1, 2010:

Parent Financial Statement Form (PFS)

The PFS can be submitted online at: http://sss.nais.org as early as Nov. 1. If tax information is not yet available at the time of filing the PFS, please use estimated figures. If applicable, a copy of the non-taxable income worksheet (section 8C) should be printed out and sent directly to Kent School. If online completion of the PFS is not possible, please contact the Kent Financial Aid office to request a paper PFS application form.

2008 federal tax return(s), including schedules and W2s

Tax returns are required from each parent as well as the student applicant if student is required to file a return. NOTE: Parents of current students who have already submitted their 2008 tax returns as part of their aid application for the 2009-2010 year need not supply another set.

Form(s) 4506 (no fee required). Please note that this form is required in addition to the tax returns, not in place of them. It should be sent to Kent School regardless of the IRS mailing instructions on the document itself.

This includes the K1 from those with Partnership, S-Corporation or Trust involvement) from self-employed parents, including those with an ownership interest in a partnership or corporation

Please note: The majority of our financial aid goes to U.S. citizens, but in recent years we have funded highly desirable international candidates as well.

Income and asset verification documents
Most recent tax return(s) or, or official employer statement(s) of annual earnings, and bank/investment account statement(s)

SSS Business Farm Statement(s), and 2008 Business tax returns from self-employed parents, including those with an ownership interest in a partnership or corporation

IMPORTANT NOTE: All documents MUST be translated to English if necessary, and all figures converted to U.S. dollars. IF ALL INFORMATION IS NOT TRANSLATED AND CONVERTED NO CONSIDERATION FOR AID WILL BE GIVEN. There are a number of useful currency conversion websites, including: www.exchangerate.com

Kent School reserves the right to require additional documentation or explanation of unusual circumstances to determine eligibility for financial aid.


NOTIFICATION DATES:

March 10, 2010: Financial Aid decisions are mailed to families of newly admitted students.

April 1, 2010: Financial Aid decisions are mailed to families of returning students whose financial aid applications are complete, who are in good academic and disciplinary standing, and whose accounts are in order in our Business Office.

April 10, 2010: Deadline for parental acceptance of the admission/financial aid offer made to newly admitted students. The Enrollment Agreement and any required deposit should also be submitted by this date.

May 1, 2010: Deadline for parental acceptance of the financial aid offer made to returning students. The Enrollment Agreement and any required deposit should also be submitted by this date.
