Technology Resources

Some of the technology resources you may use at Kent are:

  • Moodle. Our online course management system provides access to course materials and assignments and serves as a repository for homework and grades throughout the year.
  • Adobe CS. Students with an interest in digital imaging or web design can take advantage of the school's site license and install the Adobe Creative Suite, which includes Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, et al., at no charge.
  • Specialized software. Whether it's Geometer's Sketchpad in math, Starry Night for astronomy, or SmartMusic for instrumental students, many teachers incorporate specialized software into their classroom instruction. In most cases the school purchases licenses so that you may install the software on your own computer at no cost.
  • Network file storage. Each student receives 2 GB of network space for storing academic work in a safe, backed-up location.
  • Microsoft Office. Students use Office, Excel, and PowerPoint to write essays, create spreadsheets, and design presentations. Outlook and its web-based counterpart, Outlook Web Access, are used extensively for email and for maintaining a calendar that helps students organize their busy schedules.
  • PTC ProEngineer and Mathcad. Pre-engineering and some mathematics classes use these top of the line, professional software packages.
