Writing Lab
Whether you’re already an accomplished writer (maybe even published — we have students who are), or writing is something quite challenging for you, you’ll find Kent's Writing Lab will help you improve your skills. It really doesn't matter how proficient you are now, because this valuable resource, located in the library, is for everyone.
Kent School's Writing Lab provides you with assistance in writing of all sorts, including expository essays, research papers, and creative writing. The teachers and student tutors working in the Lab guide you through the writing process from brainstorming and outlining to drafting and revising. They also help you to develop effective reading skills, study strategies for homework and tests, and improved time management. Working one-on-one with you, they find the techniques and processes that work best for you.
If you’re an experienced writer, you may be chosen as one of the Writing Lab’s Peer Tutors. Students with strong writing skills and the love of analysis may hold this position, one of the most prestigious in the Student Jobs Program.
