When you take a language class at Kent, whether it's first year or AP, you'll have regular access to the Mattoon Language Learning Center. It's located right next to the language classrooms and it's outfitted with all kinds of equipment to help you perfect your oral and auditory skills in a foreign language.
In addition to CDs, DVDs and audiocassettes, the learning center features a high-tech computer training system that lets your teacher monitor your progress through one and two-way communication in both audio and visual modes. It's even possible to have simultaneous, multilingual instruction. And you can work in pairs, groups or individually. And we have even more language resources available online, which, with our wired and wireless network, is fast turning the whole campus into a language lab.
With all these capabilities, you can imagine the Language Learning Center is at the heart of learning a modern language at Kent.
